If you have followed this blog at all you have been reading all about the new doors, or should I say the struggle to obtain and install new doors. We are making progress! Last week the contractor send over my favorite guy, Steven, to actually install the 4 pre-hung interior doors and their hardware. This is Steven, sending a salute to Seaman Knight while working on the downstairs bathroom door. That day Steven got all the old doors, frames and molding out. He then put in the new doors, prehung, and the new door hardware. One downstairs bathroom door, 2 upstairs bathroom doors and a master bedroom door. I'll take more photos later this week and show you the finished (minus staining) product.

I apologize, Steven. I couldn't resist. I'm just that kind of girl. Frankly, I think that tool belt is pretty impressive. That's what separates the men from the boys: it's the tool belt. Steven loves our cats, is a real perfectionist, and is my remodel therapist. Believe me, if you're remodelling, you'll NEED a therapist!

And this is the downstairs bathroom door installed, but without the moldings and hardware. Steven and I spent some time testing out the frosted "privacy glass" to see how privacy-making it really is. You know, the stuff lives up to its name! We were really impressed. In fact, with lights off and no flash on the camera, from the outside, the privacy glass actually acts somewhat like a mirror. That's me sitting on the stairs taking a picture of the door. You can see the art work on the wall at the top of the stairs behind me, and you can make out Steven's outline while he's standing right behind the glass.
